There are many contexts in which you can store and use files throughout the Stratus Platform.
Cloud Storage is the primary place for storing your files. Each user has unlimited cloud storage and may upload any file up to 5GB in size. Since these files are stored in the cloud, an unlimited number of users may access these files simultaneously without any slowdowns in performance, making it the ideal place to store large content such as video.
Samples are the place in your ePortfolio for storing samples of your work. Each user gets 50MB of limited storage for storing files that can be included on pages in your ePortfolio.
Group Files are for Group members. These files can be used on the group pages and only group members can access the files. If you are a group member, you can upload, edit and delete any of these files.
Institution Files are for displaying on Institution Pages. Once an Institution Page is created, you can drag one of the institution files into the page for users in the institution to view.
Site Files are for Site Pages, which can be created by Global Classroom Administrators. To request a site page, please contact us.
If you do not have an external file storage service, Global Classroom can store files for you to use on your logged out page and front page marketing. Please contact us for more information.
Files in the Course Catalog area of Stratus are accessed using a File picker to upload and organize files in Repositories. The primary repository is Cloud Storage, which is the same location as on the Community side. Content creators have the ability to add files from their computer, or access a configured Repository instance and have their file stored securely with the text or activity they are creating. Global Classroom Administrators can expand the default repository list and add additional internal or external repositories for use, such as Alfresco, Amazon S3, Google Docs, Dropbox, and more! Please contact us for more information.
