An Institution is a system for organizing users on a Global Classroom platform. When a user account is created on a platform (whether by self-registration, bulk upload, or other means) that user becomes a part of an Institution that is governed by the respective Institution Administrators and Institution Staff for that Institution, as well as gaining access to common resources such as Institution Pages. If separate communities of users wish to utilize the same Global Classroom platform, then dividing each community of users into different Institutions allows a separate set of Institution Administrators and Staff to serve the needs of each community respectively. If your platform contains multiple user communities that are best administered separately, Institutions are your solution.
